This week, we present the continuation of the interview with the renowned Hausa actress in the Kannywood industry, Hadiza Muhammad, also known as Hadiza Kabara. She discussed the challenges they encountered over twenty years ago before entering the profession.
Furthermore, the Kannywood actress elaborated on the ongoing impact on her life and film career even after joining the industry.
Among the films you have done, which one do you like the most, which one is your favorite, and why do you like it?
“I like every movie I’m in because if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have taken the job. I don’t have any preferences or favorites. If I’m in a movie, it means I want to do it. If I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have accepted the role.”
Do you have a manager or a guardian in the Kannywood industry?
Even though I have a manager, if you work in the movie industry, it’s unlikely that you wouldn’t have a manager, too.
Could you please share his name with the readers?
“Sure, I work for my boss, Falalu A. Dorayi, and I believe he is the best boss I could have.
Regarding success, I have had many achievements in the movie industry, which I am grateful for. However, some successes are personal and I prefer to keep them private. I am thankful for all the blessings and I hope for increased honor through the grace of God.”

“Have you entered the film industry in your area?”
I have always considered the film industry to be a unique and valuable business. I work hard for my business, and I believe it is an important part of my life. Even though I never planned to enter the movie industry, I feel like it is my destiny. I often pray for blessings, and I am proud to be a part of this industry.
Which goal do you want to achieve?
“I swear, the film industry has accomplished so much.”
What is your future dream about the film industry?
My biggest dream is to see the film industry thrive wherever I am. It’s a valuable profession, and my goal in life is for everyone to be safe.
After the film business, do you have any other business?
I have a business where I travel to buy goods and then sell them. The road conditions are not good, but I go all the way to Kotono, Lagos to buy goods and then sell them. I recently went to the valley to buy more goods, and now I am in a better position to sell them.
What is your relationship with other actors?
My relationship with every actor, whether male or female, is fine. Wherever they are, we are fine. I have no problem with anyone. By God’s grace, everyone is mine.
Who is your best friend in Kannywood?
My friends are many; I won’t say who, who; I have a big friend in Kannywood; every woman in Kannywood is my friend.
What is the happiest or worst thing that ever happened that you will never forget?
I’ve had both happy and sad experiences in my life. I’ll never forget a time when my phone fell and got stolen while I was working in Katsina. Ali Nuhu noticed that I was using a small phone and asked me about it. When I explained what had happened, he kindly bought me a new phone and even apologized for the trouble. His gesture meant a lot to me, and I can’t thank him enough. It’s moments like this that make a difference.
What is your favorite food and drink?
I like rice and soup and salad, and lamb. I drink and I prefer water.
What advice would you give to those attempting to enter the Kannywood industry, as well as those already in it?
“Those who are trying to bring others in should come with a pure heart. If you come for business, may God bless you and stand between you and God with a unified heart. If you come seeking unity between yourselves and God, there should be no disobedience or impurity in your hearts; by God’s grace, He will provide for you. This also applies to your parents and relatives. What you bring together, God will continue to bless.”
What kind of clothes do you like to wear, and what color?
I prefer to wear atamfa of any kind, I prefer to wear it or lace, whatever color I like.
Is there any appeal to the government regarding the film industry?
I have nothing to say to the governor of Kano, but I want to ask God to step up and help us in our cause.
