President Tinubu appointed Ali Nuhu to enhance the country’s economy through cultural initiatives, according to Minister Bagudu.
The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has sought support from international organizations and stakeholders to help the Nigerian Film Commission develop the country’s economy.
The Minister made this request during a courtesy visit from the Managing Director/Director General, Dr. Ali Nuhu, and senior officers of the agency at the Ministry in Abuja on Thursday.
Senator Bagudu emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu plans to establish the Ministry of Culture and Economy, recognizing that various cultural groups and activities can contribute to the nation’s economic development.
He urged Dr. Nuhu, the Director General of the Nigerian Film Commission (NFC), to create meaningful opportunities for young people in the industry. Bagudu also advised the Commission to seek collaboration with organizations such as KOICA from South Korea, as well as Japan and the French embassy, to enhance the country’s film industry.
The Minister commended Dr. Nuhu as a strong leader and encouraged him to use his skills to spread messages of renewed hope while showcasing the resilience of Nigerians striving for a better life.
In response, Dr. Nuhu stated that his goal is to increase the NFC’s budget to facilitate the execution of future projects. He noted that a larger budget would enable the Commission to manage public relations offices, improve permanent office space, enhance current staff conditions, and hire experienced personnel.
