Many Kannywood actors are poor or need help after spending a long time in the industry.

However, some of the actors of the industry said that it is the lack of organization and savings from some of the heroes that is causing them to fall into poverty.

In their conversation with BBC Hausa’s Mahangar Zamani program, Aminu Sheriff, better known as Momoh and Bashir Bala Chiroki, explained what they think is the cause of the problem.

Bashir Bala Chiroki – who in the past few years has risen, and now he is struggling with life, where he has returned to the business of selling kunun aya – said that the cause of the problem is the lack of proper planning and provision.

On his part, Aminu Sheriff Momoh, said that he is looking at the problem from three angles, first of all he said that it depends on how the actor takes the film industry, “does he take it as a profession or something else?” the entertainment that he will come to do, and catch his presence when it is completed”

“The second thing is what kind of life he prepared for himself, he took the life with the kind of glory he got in the industry, meaning he left one group of people and went to another?” Will he change his clothes and environment and increase his spending or will he stay the same?

The third thing is what plan he made for himself for his future life, “Since glory comes and goes, is there any provision that he has prepared for his life to last after the end of the glory he got in the industry”, said Momoh.

He said these are the things that every actor should consider after entering Kannywood.

He continues on to say that there are actors who, when they are on the verge of glory, put their pride and lies on themselves and change their position.

“You will see a person who says that he will only drink water from bamboo, and he will not eat cheap food, but expensive food, whether he owns a big phone, a big car or a big house, someone has to pay a lot of money.” “Many people rent a big house just because he got fame,” said the actor.

‘I saved my pride and went back to advertising to find a solution for myself’

Bashir Bala Chiroki – who faced similar problems in the past, and even returned to the business of selling kunun aya – said that in 2019 he entered into a situation of life pressure.

He said that in his opinion, it is the problem of the passing of time that made some of the film producers put him aside, and then he took the step to find a solution for himself.

“When I saw that it was impossible, I got rid of my pride and shame, I went to be taught how to connect the ears, he was happy, he warned me, to hide my secret, and I took it I’m singing to him on the bike, I’m doing this to hide myself,’ said hero Chiroki.

The actor also said that the money that is paid to the actors in the film, is not money that will hold a person, “because they don’t have to hold you back and keep you a secret.”

He continued that there are two types of film actors, there are poor people or children of poor people and there are rich people or children of rich people, who come with their own money and invest to make a film.

“But the children of the poor and the poor people in the film expect to find something to hide, so if you fall into this group, what you need to do is to find another way to get the money, to cover yourself up.” asiri,” as Chiroki explained in the program Mahangar zamana of BBC Hausa.

‘You don’t get rich with film money’

Aminu Sheriff Momoh said that the mistake some actors in the industry are making is that they enter the film industry to make money.

“You don’t get rich with movie money, whoever thinks that he will get rich with what he will be paid for in a movie, then he is wrong”, said Momoh.

He added that the wealth that a person will get in a movie is not more than the fans who watch the actor and is impressed by them, and they also love him, but by the money that is paid in the industry.

He said that the main thing that every actor should do is to find a career or a job that will depend on him. he found a solution for himself.

“You won’t stay for a month without being invited to a movie, and you have a family, so what will you feed them?” he said.

Momoh said other Kannywood workers who do not appear as actors, are even better than the actors, because they have the opportunity to work in other companies or ministries, unlike the actors who only appear as movie stars.

‘Sometimes the money paid for heroes or cars is not enough’

Bashir Bala Chiroki said that what is paid in a film varies from producer to producer, because according to him, one producer will pay enough money unlike another.

“Sometimes when I make a film, I pay 10,000, 20,000 or 30,000 naira, and sometimes 5,000 or even 3,000 naira, it’s a big or small movie depending on who takes you”.

“If someone pays you for a movie, by God, you have to spend six months, but if someone pays you, by God, if you pay for the car back home, you have to borrow”.

“Because of the film industry, there are profits and losses. When you finish a film for him, he tells you who to meet”, said the actor.

Chiroki said it is good to increase the money paid to Kannywood movie stars, although according to him there has been a change now some have started to increase the money they pay actors.
