The kidnappers of Rarara’s mother demanded a ransom of 900 million Naira.
Gunmen have kidnapped Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of the renowned Hausa singer Dauda Adamu, popularly known as Rarara. They are demanding a ransom of 900 million Naira for her release.
A source close to the family informed the Daily Trust newspaper that the kidnappers initially requested 1 billion Naira. According to Daily Nigerian Hausa, the kidnappers contacted the family using a woman’s phone that they obtained when they first took Hajiya.
The source stated, “They initially asked for N1 billion, but after some discussion with a relative, they lowered the demand to N900 million.
“At first, they intended to negotiate directly with Rarara, but they changed their stance when he fell ill following his mother’s kidnapping. Instead, they decided to communicate with another family member, assuring them that Hajiya was safe and that she would be released once the ransom was paid.
“Since then, they have not contacted the family again. However, I believe discussions are still ongoing, and I am waiting for further communication from the kidnappers.”
